Documents I Can Assist With
1
Powers of Attorney
Powers of Attorney are required when someone else needs to act on your behalf on a foreign transaction for example where you are buying or selling property abroad.
Many jurisdictions require that Powers of Attorney are attested by a Notary who verifies you identity and that you are acting without undue influence and of your own free will and witnesses the signing of the deed and affixes their seal and signature
2
Affidavits and declarations
Affidavits and similar documents are often used in foreign court proceedings. Statutory declarations may be required to marry abroad
Affidavits and statutory declarations must be signed before an individual with the power to witness an oath, if the affidavit or statutory declaration is for use abroad, it will not usually be recognised in a foreign jurisdiction unless it has been performed before a notary. The Notary ensures you understand any implications of the document and that you are happy to sign it. They will then add their signature and seal to authenticate it
3
Agreements with overseas businesses
If you are doing business overseas your agreement with a foreign party may well require a notarial certification of the agreement you have signed.
The notarial certificate will confirm the validity of your signature, that you have the capacity to enter into the transaction, that you are doing so of your own freewill and that the document has been lawfully executed
4
Overseas trademark applications
When applying to register a patent or trademark overseas, you may need a notary public to confirm you have the capacity and authority.
Foreign officials will also need to be satisfied that your identity is genuine and that you are permitted to sign documentation on the behalf of the company or business making the application. The Notary verifies your ID and status and provide any certification necessary
5
English will and grant of probate authentication for use abroad
In order for an English will and grants of probate to be valid for use in foreign jurisdictions they will often require notarisation.
6
Proof of Life documents
You may need this document if you wish to access benefits, pensions or update financial information abroad. If you wish to use your certificate abroad or if it relates to overseas matters it will usually require notarisation
